Care Divas 2-27-11

Care Divas is a disarmingly funny and candid musical drama. It is a story about five Filipino transgender migrant workers who have emigrated to Israel to work as health care providers for the elderly and who in their spare time, perform as drag queens. While desperate to make ends meet in another country, they also struggle to search for freedom and acceptance. Entertaining as it is, the play also demonstrates the generosity of spirit, resilience and humanity of Filipinos.

I’m really excited every time that if given the opportunity to watch at a PETA production. Already watched 3 plays including this one, Care Divas. The play is about 5 gay care gives by day and drag queens by night. Each character showing the trials and hardships of a gay OFW on Israel. Though faced by challenges of acceptance to the society and with their own personal battles of loneliness their bond as a family with each other was the key part there. As a Filipino they didn’t forgot their culture and how true they were to themselves.

The stage was awesome. Especially the lap posts and the window that comes from above when changing scenes. The glow-in-the-dark tapes on the platforms for marking. Props were well done. Costumes were well designed, very bright. It’s obvious that these play had budget.
The music and lyrics of the songs were catchy and very original as well as the choreography of some of the songs.

The actors really established their roles, gave emphasis and portrayed it very well. The actor that was portraying one of the gay care divas in the name of Kayla wasn’t really obvious that he was a real man in real life, so as an actor’s point of view he really did a great job on his role. There was this one scene that really got my attention. It was when Chelsea was taking care of Isaac and when they shifted to another scene Isaac changed character and became Kayla’s patient.

Over all the play was great! I really enjoyed it and there was really no dull moment. I was really focused and every scene caught my attention. I recommend this play and hope to watch it again.

Pa'no ba masaktan ang mga lalaki?

Don't own anything! From: isangmalakingoven.tumblr.com

I don’t know. Magkukwento pa ba ko? ‘Wag na. Ahaha! K fine, I’ll make kwento. Conyo? Ahahaha!

Long distance.

To cut the long story short, mahal pa rin pala niya ang kanyang ex. To the rescue na naman ang drama ng lolo niyo. Ganun eh.

Boyfriend, in short. I was literally shocked na parang hindi rin mag-sink in.

But of course, it was never easy. Wala eh. Nasa state of shock ako nung mga panahong ‘yun.

It took me more than a year to move on. Siguro, pa’no masaktan ang mga lalaki, the answer would be: wow, ah okay, masakit, wait lang, ugh, siyete. Mahirap i-explain.

How I looked then.

Haven't took a picture of myself yet now. :p will keep you posted :D

I just miss you.

I don't own the picture

The picture said it all. I miss us telling each other everything.

Gahhh, screw schedules! It's like I'm also studying in Manila because we seldom see each other.
I just miss you so much. And I want to spend my time with you and catch up with each other. OR JUST BE WITH YOU.
