As DLSC celebrates the 100 years of La Sallian Presence in the Philippines. Our school featured the ONLY La Sallian Preschool Pep Squad!!! How's that for 100 years?! :-bd

ANIMO LA SALLE! 100 years of La Sallian Presence in the Philippines!

Last June 16, 2011 marked the 100 years of La Sallian Presence in the Philippines! I was fortunate enough to be part of it at our school at De La Salle Canlubang. Though most of the activities are on DLSU-M. Sad that I wasn't able to go to DLSU that day because of other commitments. But I'm getting over it.

With that we can finally show you guys our Centennial Dance Video, Live It Up! Featuring Lucid Dance Troupe of DLSC, Ms. Maleth and volunteers from DLSC! Also check the comments in youtube. Awesome! Makes me more proud of being a La Sallian!

The 1st event of the term: aNEON La Salle!

Awesome bands performing from the FROSH then PRIVADO and Abbey, Gerard, Martin, Fred, AC, Allan... Woooohhhh! Also Lucid performed! Manila paper game, speed dating and their surprise gig! AHAHAHAHAHA! Job well done Student Council! Really exceeded my expectations!

Looking forward for your next event! This year will be meaning full.

My point of view (in here also includes the people in society)

1) People tend to be dictated like what Thoreau said in "The mass of men serve the state thus, not as men mainly, but as machines". The ones in the military that follows orders is an example. Maybe another is a boss and employer relationship when the employed follows what the boss says because he/she needs to.

2)There are some that only care about themselves. Think what will benefit them and not the many. Here comes greed, corruption that is why more people are in poverty.

3)And there is the people who fight for what they believe is right. People who cares about the society because they know that what is happening to their community isn't right. They stand up for what they believe in and mostly becomes the enemy of the public.

I'd rather be Green!

Minsan lang ang 100 years!

I'm really excited for June 16! 2 more days to go! And La Sallian presence here in the Philippines will mark its 100th year! Awesome right? Few only reaches that feat. I have to tell you, I'm really having fun now at Canlubang. When I joined the Leadership Training last weekend, it was God's perfect time for me to realize that I'm luck to be a Canlubanger! That time it was all sinking in to me. How awesome the school is! I'm blessed that I was able to attend that. How I just wish others would also experience it!

As we celebrate our 100th year, may all La Sallian bear in their hearts that we are ONE LA SALLE. We may have different names, but our goal is one!

The Art of Tutting

Egyptian hieroglyphs were a formal writing system used by the ancient Egyptians that contained a combination of logographic and alphabetic elements. Egyptians used cursive hieroglyphs for religious literature on papyrus and wood. Less formal variations of the script, called hieratic and demotic, are technically not hieroglyphs.

A hieroglyph used as a logogram defines the object of which it is an image.

In dancing Tutting is

• is a contemporary abstract interpretive street dance style modeled after Egyptian hieroglyphics. Tutting is performed with attention to the musics' rhythm by altering the position of the body and limbs in a synchronized, robotic manner.
• is a style of dance that consists of making geometric positions and movements. Its style mostly deals with 90 degree angles.
• is said to have originated from the Egyptian culture because the dance mimics the way an Egyptian would walk and move.

I'm really not sure who did tutting in dancing or created the style and when it arrived. But as what I've seen Tutting has been evolving through time. As what I watch from other dance crews. The creativity and imagination and putting it and incorporating it with dance.
